St Theresa's School Plimmerton - 4 Dec 2009
Zoe doing a great job

Dear Eddie and your WONDERFUL team of girls

Thank you so, so much for an amazing day at St Theresa's.  The children, (whole school) were so, so excited.  Their day was busy, a challenge for many, a new experience for many, an day filled with lots of laughter, fun and total excitement.  It was a highlight of their EOTC week.

Your help in getting their confidence build up has been phenomenal.  Children dared to try and they are still buzzing.  It is wonderful to know that so many children had never experienced what you put and took then through, and taught them.  Your patient, loving and caring team of young NZ reps was a highlight and something that many now aspire to and wish to become. what a wonderful witness your team was to them all.  Their hard efforts in their training and love for their chosen sport, has certainly rubbed off on many of the children at St Theresa's.

What an incredible set up.  The obstacle course was so good for them all, not just a huge amount of fun, but a massively huge learning curve for many. What an experience!!!

They are still talking about it all and want to do it again and again and some are asking for even harder obstacles next time...their confidence grew so, so much.

I really do hope that you will come back, I know the children certainly want you back and what an experience, exposure and opportunity we all had...thank you.

Eddie, thank you so very much for spending the day with us, to ensure we are all safe on the roads and tracks again, and can manage our bikes safely.  Your and your team of wonderful girls' long day, and wonderful way with the children was very much appreciated and talked about.....and still is.

Wishing you a fabulous Christmas break and we do hope that you will come back again in the near future.

Kind regards and thank you

Margosia Buchowiecki and all at St Theresa's

HOSPI Charity Bike Ride Feedback 2009

Feedback to the organizers of The Hospi 2009

Eddie, this is the feedback I have received from the cyclists about your event.  Congratulations on a great job, the event was obviously very well received.

___________________________________________________________

I would like to thank everyone involved in organising this worthwhile event. This was my first road event since purchasing a road bike, and what better way to start it than to also support and put something back to the childrens hospital. My son was born 10 weeks premature, and over the last 11 years has had many visits for various procedures as a result of his early birth. As a family we are grateful for what the dedicated staff have been able to provide on the limited budget they have available. Events such as this should make things a bit easier for the children and families moving forward.

Thanks a lot what a great event one of the best I have done.

What a great event! Please pass on my congratulations to the organisers for a fantastic experience (my first road bike race / fun ride). A pretty cold start and inaudible race briefing (for those at the back) but otherwise no complaints. It was especially enjoyable to race through the city in the latter stages with junctions marshalled and traffic held at the lights by the traffic police. I thought that 2 hours would be an acceptable time so particularly pleased with 1 hour 42 mins.

That was my first event in a long time after being very unwell so I wanted a small reminder. I think the grin on my face shows how delighted I was to be back on my bike!

I did the hospi ride on sunday and am very keen to get a copy of the photo of myself. Thankyou very much for giving these out for free!!!

I have ridden in only one previous cycle event and that was the London-Brighton 25-years ago on the same bike!  I enjoyed the HOSPI 2009 ride and look forward to being able to take part again next year.

Really appreciate it..and really enjoyed the ride!!..What a day!!..and really well organised and great assistance from Police/WCC..shame about the killer hill climbs..hehe

really enjoyed the ride -- apart from losing the rear wheel on a corner and†hitting a bank at 30--40kph on the descent into Makara, ouch! Couldn't have done it on a better ride though. Fellow cyclist Ken, a paramedic, was part of the bunch and he stopped for 10 mins giving me (and bike) a damage and safety check. I finished the ride†with some one-legged hill climbing ...   I owe†the paramedic a huge debt of thanks.

I really hope this ride is the start of something big for Wellington.† Support like yours will help this happen.

By the way It was a great ride, very well organized.† My regards to all the people involved in making it happen.

I was desperately resting up at the back of the pack wondering if I could hold on 'till the finish and whether or not I could make it up that last hill. The photo will be great proof that I actually am an 'elite athelete' (in my own lunchtime) and not some old middle aged fart with a mid-life crisis - like my wife and all my buddies reckon ... or something like that. Nah, it was a great day and I was having a great time.  Thanks to the organizers.

aside from the cold (and confusion at the finish) it was a great ride for a great cause. brilliant work by the marshalls and police to give us a clean run through, i think they just weren't quite ready for us at the finish!

All round a fantastic event. Just need some new legs after those hills ( but didn't walk). Enjoyed the police bike escort from Island bay to the finish. I too think all the marshalls and helpers did an awesome job. It's about time Wellington had a 'signature event'.

A big cheer to the organizers

HOSPI Bike Ride - Wellington Childrens' Hospital Charity Ride Sunday 15th March 2009

Hi Eddie

Just a quick note to say a big thank you for organizing the event today.  I honestly don't think I have ever been in such a well organized and safety conscious event.

I found you guys actually did put safety first with all the volunteers and traffic management systems in place.  There was never a point in the race where I didn't feel unsafe.  Which is a very nice feeling!

It was a tough ride, lots of hills, which made it interesting.  No boring bits.  And what weather - couldn't have asked for better.  Must admit this afternoon has been very quiet (especially since we cycled to the start and then home again!) So like I said, a BIG thank you to yourself and your helpers, for making the ride today just a GREAT ride.

Take Care

Cheers

Masters Training Camp August 2008

HI Eddie - first time I've had a moment to drop you a line since the training camp.

Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed myself - and not only because it was a weekend without kids! I don't know how you did it for the fee charged - the accommodation was an excellent standard, the food was plentiful & great and the cycling was outstanding. Fantastic value for money!!!! The opportunity to cycle with a different group of people, meant that I heard some new ideas and tips, which I know will make me a better cyclist.

Thanks again Eddie

Cheers

Effetto Mariposa Giustaforza Torque Wrench

Hello Eddie

I received the torque wrench today, thank you.

I have checked the fittings on my bike and found that I had some too tight and yet one (the seat clamp) too slack.

A very worthwhile investment that I would recommend to anyone.

Thank you.

Regards

Bruce

CycloSport Junior Training Camp - April 2008

RE camp: Well where to start! The camp was honestly amazing, there were so many aspects of the camp that stood out and allowed me to feel confident and recovered for the following weekends tour. Multiple measures were taken, in making sure we felt refreshed for the next weekends challenge. The 2 pool recovery sessions provided a fun and different outlook to recovery. The rides right throughout the week enabled me to not become over tired as there was a group for every speed and ability level. From the daily lectures I have taken away a lot of knowledge that can now be in place when training, racing, recovery and general maintenance of my bike. From this camp I feel that I benefited every single day and I was always learning something new and interesting. The SIS team, Eddie, and Eddies sons family, were just great people to be around for the week. I strongly recommend this camp as I achieved so much out of it...

Linda T - 3 Dec 2007

In November I attended the womens training camp held in Masterton. I was very nervous as I am very inexperienced in group riding and was so worried I would not be able to cope.

I cannot thank Eddie and his team enough for all the support and advice that I learned on the course. Everything Eddie said was an "Ah ha!"moment, and many bad habits that I had were nipped in the bud and my riding has improved immeasurably. I would encourage anyone who wants to ride better to attend a training camp with Eddie. Also a big thank you to the other riders in the training camp for their encouragement. Linda T

Oceania Championships 07 - 10 May 2007

Hi Eddie

I just wanted to thank you again for your huge contributions of time and effort in the trip that we've just returned from.
Having you as my manager had a large positive effect in my racing results, and, I have taken away so much (both on the bike and off the bike) knowledge - so, for me this experience has been invaluable.

I hope you have settled back into you N.Z lifestyle o.k - I am still struggling to deal with reality,  it was so easy for me to adapt to the lifestyle of a full time cyclist! :)

Thanks again. Y H-W

Bike Fit feedback - 7 May 2007

Dear Eddie.

I would like to say a HUGE thankyou for the fantastic Bike Fit you gave me last Saturday. On Saturday, I did a 60km ride (alone, fairly flat I admit) and achieved my highest ever average speed of 28.9km. I was so excited, as it was even higher than when I've done similar pack rides and the Sarah ulmer race 65kms! Then I managed 45km on Sunday and 104km yesterday with my partner over the Aka's to Upper Hutt then home over the Haywards and the Paekaariki hill to Waikanae.   I could never have achieved the same power and energy without your help.
