Effetto Mariposa
CycloSport is pleased to announce the sole distributorship of an Italian masterpiece in craftsmanship. The Effetto Mariposa range of products is designed to fill the yawning gap that exists in the cycling carbon fibre tool department with two quality tools. The two torque wrenches are specifically designed to meet the carbon bike market and are made to the highest calibration standards.
Effetto Mariposa ('Butterfly Effect) takes its inspiration from the scientific background of scientist Edward Lorenz 'the flap of a butterfly's wings in Brazil can set off a tornado in Texas' and has become synonymous of disasters generated by small and unsuspectable events.
The extra torque an unaware mechanic applies to a screw could be the flap of a butterfly's wing setting off the tornado (or a broken handlebar, to use our analogy).
There's also a positive aspect, though: in a sport where win and loss are a matter of fractions of a second (think of track-racing or time-trialling) the winning 'flap' are the 0,1 bar more of pressure, the aerodynamic helmet, the titanium screws.
Effetto Mariposa targets both aspects: prevent damages and create tiny winning advantages, all this taking care of the details most are under-estimating.
Materials Engineer, Alberto has been Product Manager and designer for Vittoria & Geax brands for over 6 years (designing several Vittoria tread-patterns and all Geax tyres from Mezcal to Saguaro).
Starting from January 1st 2007, in parallel with doing consultancy for some bicycle-related companies, he's working on his own Effetto Mariposa project.
Long-time cycling aficionado, he loves all aspects of cycling, including maintenance and cycling-related technical and material innovations. Getting lost while exploring new trails on long winter rides, and post-ride meals, are the activities he really excels at.
Consistently ranking in the second-half of the arrival list, he competes in road/off-road cycling, triathlon and running.

Carbogrip
